This piece was created to depict the first time realizing I was in love with a woman. Despite being openly queer for a decade, this love caught me by surprise. What started as a quiet whisper, slowly burned into all encompassing irrefutable desire. Missing the whole “falling” part, jumping straight to being hit with the fact that I had already arrived (though upon reflection it should have been obvious).

I hoped to capture a glowing warmth juxtaposed against a bit of tension and awkwardness that comes with a new unexplored angle. Posing one to ask- what is real?
