HARD TO SEE - ORIGINAL OIL ON CANVAS

My mother had always told me her greatest achievement was becoming a mother. I was her first child- of which she reminisces on fondly and often. So this being the first piece in my series is very fitting. The name stems from a childhood memory where I was with my mom coloring with a box of crayons and I was using this almost transparent green. Immediately transfixed, I deemed this color HARD TO SEE green. At the time she also happened to be wearing a hat of the same color. This color has always reminded me of her. That even when it’s hard to see, our relationship is deeply profound. I am also a believer that the best things come in small packages, this has been my smallest piece in the series but my favorite none the less.
